Artificial leather is a kind of leather that uses cotton textiles woven by warp and weft as the base and has a plastic coating.
People are accustomed to use PVC resin as the raw material to produce leather called PVC; PU resin as the raw material to produce leather is called PU: the general people will refer to synthetic leather other than genuine leather such as: PVC, PU leather collectively referred to as artificial leather or imitation leather. Both PVC and PU are polyvinyl chloride (a kind of plastic), but the manufacturing processes of these two products are not the same. PU leather is more complicated than PVC leather in manufacturing process. Because the PU base fabric is a canvas PU material with good tensile strength, in addition to being coated on the top fabric, the base fabric can also be included in the middle to make it The appearance can not see the existence of the cloth. The physical properties of PU leather are better than PVC leather. They are resistant to tortuosity, softness, tensile strength, and breathable (no PVC). The pattern of PVC leather is made by hot pressing of steel pattern roller; the pattern of PU leather is hot pressed on the surface of semi-finished leather with a kind of pattern paper. After cooling down, the paper leather is separated to make the surface deal with. The price of PU leather is more than double that of PVC leather, and the price of PU leather with some special requirements is 2-3 times higher than that of PVC leather. The scope of application of these two materials is also somewhat different. In terms of footwear, PVC leather is mostly used in lining or non-weight-bearing parts, or to make children's shoes; PU leather can be suitable for footwear fabrics or weight-bearing parts. In terms of bags, PVC leather is more applicable. 1. (PVC) artificial leather
①Ordinary artificial leather. Most of them are made of plain cloth, canvas and recycled cloth, and are made by direct coating method. The finished product is hard and wear-resistant, and is mainly used for making wear-resistant packaging bags, construction and industrial accessories.
② Foamed artificial leather. Using knitted fabric as the base, the surface layer paste contains a foaming agent and an auxiliary agent, and foams to form a microporous structure when gelled. Lightweight, full-feeled, and soft, it is used to make gloves, bags, bags, clothing, and furniture.
③ suede leather. Commonly known as artificial suede. There are many varieties and different processes. The microporous surface layer of artificial leather after gelation can be made into ground suede leather after grinding by sand roller. The coating layer is raised and stretched by a raising roller, and a curly suede leather can be prepared, which is suitable for use as a toe cap and trim material for sports shoes. Add soluble salts (such as table salt) to the coating paste. After gelation, dissolve the salt with water to make the surface layer appear microporous and have a velvety feel. ①Polyamide artificial leather
Is better than PVC artificial leather in breathability and moisture absorption, and has better appearance and feel. It is often used for making boxes and bags.
②Polyurethane (pu) synthetic leather
Is made of raised cloth as the base and made of polyurethane solution as paint. Its texture is light, soft, wear-resistant, breathable, and warm. The feel is not affected by changes in temperature and coldness.
③Polyolefin artificial leather
Is made of low-density polyethylene as the main raw material, and is made by calendering. Its light weight, firmness and smooth surface are suitable for making bags and bags.
3. The distinction between PU and PVC leather;
The distinction between PU and PVC is relatively easy. From the corners, the base fabric of PU is much thicker than PVC. There are also differences in the feel. The feel of PU is softer; the feel of PVC is harder; you can also use fire to burn it. The taste is much lighter than PVC. It can also be distinguished by the method of gasoline soaking. The method is to use a small piece of fabric, put it in gasoline for half an hour, and then take it out. If it is PVC artificial leather, it will become hard and brittle, if it is PU synthetic leather, it will not Hardens and becomes brittle.
